A sustainable farming alternative is found in fish farming in Biofloc systems, in which the nutrients generated by aquaculture farming can be continuously recycled and reused. The sea cucumber (Isostichopus badionotus) is a holothuroid echinoderm with detritivorous feeding habits. The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of the use of biofloc flour as food on the growth and survival of juveniles of the sea cucumber Isostichopus badionotus. For this, a study was conducted for 60 days. A total of 84 juveniles with an average weight of 9.48 g were divided into 12 tanks. Four treatments were used: T1 (100% mixture of seaweed meal Ulva sp., Sargassum sp. and Macrosystis sp.), T2 (65% mixture of seaweed meal and 35% biofloc), T3 (35% mixture of seaweed meal and 65% biofloc) and T4 (100% biofloc). A total of 5 biometrics were performed every 15 days. After 60 days, 6 organisms were taken for each treatment for chemical analysis. The treatment that obtained the highest weight gain was T3: 16,940 g and the lowest T1: 11,298 g. The meal with the highest protein value is biofloc flour with a result of 34.7% and seaweed meal with a percentage of 8.7%, these results suggest that the use of biofloc meal can be used at 65% in the sea cucumber die | es_MX |
