Descripción : Recently, due to the high price of oil, the concern for the environment and the increasing electricity demand, renewable energy sources are in the limelight. For these reasons, the development of alternative sources, such as photovoltaic panels, wind turbines and fuel cells, has been stimulated with the aim of delivering power from a renewable energy source to the grid by means of a DC/AC converter with desirable features, such as high efficiency and low pollution in power generation. However, with the use of nonlinear loads by residential, commercial, and industrial consumers, the energy quality is affected in the grid, since a high harmonic content is generated. In other words, all users connected to the common coupling point have been impaired in the power quality, since the harmonic current generated by nonlinear loads interact with the grid impedance making that harmonics voltage appear. Then, these distortions increase losses, but also can cause serious failure of some sensitive electrical equipment and reduce the efficiency. So that, to solve this unwanted harmonic pollution, it has been indicated that active power filters have the ability to compensate current harmonics and also to improve power quality. Usually, the systems have a single function: to inject electrical energy generated by renewable energy or as active power filter. Each system has a respective control developed to your needs; so, the control strategies based for the power electronics stages have become an important issue. In this thesis, a control strategy based on a Lyapunov function is proposed for a DC/AC converter in photovoltaic systems. The proposal not only will it have the ability to inject active power into the grid, but it will also have the ability to compensate the harmonic content generated by the nonlinear loads. The methodology, based on the Lyapunov function, offers great global stability and strong robustness to parameter variations.
